Broker's Comments
The Midget 26 is built by the Gebr. Kloet in Holland, and the shape is reminiscent of classic fishing boats from Denmark renowned for their sea-keeping abilities in rough weather. With its round stern, heavy displacement and generous beam, which extends far to the front and back, the Midget 26 is a sea-kindly, yet spacious form, that has withstood the tests of both sea and time.
This would be ideal for families or sailors wishing to explore in comfort and safety. As Practical Boat Owner said in February 2005, "....a tough, capable and impressively roomy cruising yacht, and one that should look after you if you're caught out in rough weather....." The article goes on to say "....The Midget is certainly different. Small, solid, hand built boats are a rarity these days, but the success of this Dutch cruiser proves that there are still people for whom quality, character and robustness are more important than size...."
The internal layout of the Midget 26 uses the forward sections of the boat for the U-shaped saloon seating. This allows the galley, heads and companionway to be positioned in the centre of the boats (where headroom is best), and allows the stern to be used for two double cabins,She was bought new at the 1985 Boat Show by her current owner and has been maintained to a high standard throughout.
